29 CFR 1910.176(b): Secure storage. Storage of material shall not create a hazard. Bags, containers, bundles, etc., stored in tiers shall be stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse.    a. In the warehouse, cardboard boxes, identified by warehouse management as containing Mazda axles, located on the third shelf above the floor in rack 70H, were not stacked in a secure manner to prevent sliding or collapse in that the plastic wrapping was not containing the boxes and the boxes were extending over the walking working surface.     b. In the warehouse, a cardboard box, identified by warehouse management as containing an automobile transmission, located on the second shelf from the floor in the 3rd Bay/8 door aisle had been stacked two boxes high. The top cardboard box had crushed the box underneath it and was observed to be leaning out toward the walking working surface. The box was not stacked in a secure manner to prevent sliding or collapse.
