Employees performing tree trimming work were exposed to struck by hazards in that the operator of the area lift had not received training to operate the equipment safely.

29 CFR 1910.67(c)(2)(v): 29 CFR 1910.67(c)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. Employees were exposed to a fall hazards. Employee using the aerial lift while cutting tree branches was exposed to fall of approximately 12 feet from the working surface to the ground bellow. The employee was not using a harness or body belt to keep him inside the aerial lift basket.

29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards. Employees performing tree trimming activities were exposed to eye injury from fling wood chips in that the employee was not using eye protection while using a chainsaw.
