29 CFR 1910.157(d)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not selected based on the classes of anticipated workplace fires and on the size and degree of hazard that would affect their use: Employees engaged in drilling operations at Rig #1, located at Sec 8, Twp 24, Row 22, Bronson, KS were exposed to fire hazards in that the number of portable fire extinguishers was not adequate for the type of workplace. There was only one fully charged ABC portable fire extinguisher available at the worksite. NOTE: API RECOMMENDED PRACTICE 54; 7.2.4 Drilling rigs shall have readily accessible, in good operating condition, not less than four(4) 20-pound capacity fire extinguishers with a Class BC rating.
