29 CFR 1910.217(d)(1)(i): The employer did not use dies and operating methods designed to control or eliminate hazards to operating personnel on or around mechanical power presses.    (a)  On or about May 29, 2018 employees working on and around 150 Ton E.W. Bliss Mechanical Power Press (Model #C-150 and Serial #H71606) were exposed to struck by hazards.  The employer did not develop operating methods to ensure multiple part blanks were not stacked in the operating zone of the press which would create a projectile and struck by hazard when the press is activated.

29 CFR 1910.217(f)(2): Operator(s) were not trained and instructed in the safe method of work before starting work on mechanical power press(es). The employer did not insure by adequate supervision that correct operating procedures were being followed.    (a)  On or about May 29, 2018 employees working on and around 150 Ton E.W. Bliss Mechanical Power Press (Model #C-150 and Serial #H71606) were exposed to struck by hazards.  The employer did not train proper operating methods to ensure multiple part blanks were not stacked in the operating zone of the press which would create a projectile and struck by hazard when the press is activated.
