29 CFR 1926.1425(c)(2): The employer did not make sure that hooks with self-closing latches were used while employees were hooking, unhooking, or guiding the load.       1226 Bayshore Ave., Brigantine, NJ, crane barge: On or about 06/20/2018, Jersey Devils LLC employees were operating a 1969 Bucyrus-Erie Model 22-BM Crawler Mounted Crane while conducting dock building /repair activities.  The establishment utilized a rigging chain and hook to hoist piles.  Employees guided the piles into position.  The hook on the rigging chain was not equipped with a self-closing throat latch.         NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
