Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. Exception: When the employer can demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems, the employer shall develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of 1926.502. a. On or about July 11, 2018, located at 6032 Corta Bella Road (Lot 7) in Westerville, Ohio, an employee was standing/walking on open floor joists while installing sheathing without any means of fall protection, thereby exposing the employee to an 11 foot fall hazard.

On or about July 11, 2018, located at 6032 Corta Bella Road (Lot #7) in Westerville, Ohio, an employee was working from a stepladder in a way that it was not designed. An employee standing on a Werner six foot fiberglass stepladder, model number FS106, while it was leaned against the outside of a residential home, thereby exposing the employee to a fall from the ladder at approximately four feet.
