29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. a. On or about July 26, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees working on the second floor deck, in the material handling area, were not wearing protective helmets when overhead hazards were present. Employees were thereby exposed to head injuries from falling/flying debris. b. On or about July 26, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees working on the ground under the material handling area, were not wearing protective helmets when overhead hazards were present. Employees were thereby exposed to head injuries from falling/flying debris. There is no abatement certification of documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to struck-by hazards from flying particles. a. On or about July 26, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees operating pneumatic nail guns on the second floor deck were not wearing safety glasses. Employees were thereby exposed to eye injuries from flying particles. b. On or about July 26, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees using power saws were not wearing eye protection, thereby exposing the employees to eye injuries from flying particles. There is no abatement certification of documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On or about July 26, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees working on the second floor deck in the material handling area, approximately thirteen (13) feet above the ground, were not protected from falls, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards. b. On or about July 26, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees framing exterior walls on the second floor, approximately thirteen (13) feet above the ground, were not protected from falls, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards. c. On or about July 26, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees handling material and performing routing construction on the second floor, approximately thirteen (13) feet above the ground, were not protected from falls through window openings, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards. There is no abatement certification of documentation required for this item.
