Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. a) Warehouse, LPG container storage: On September 7, 2018, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to burn hazards while removing and replacing LPG containers on forklifts, in that proper skin protection was not provided.

29 CFR 1910.178(a)(5): If the truck is equipped with front-end attachments other than factory installed attachments, the user shall request that the truck be marked to identify the attachments and show the approximate weight of the truck and attachment combination at maximum elevation with load laterally centered. a) Warehouse: On or about September 7, 2018, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to struck-by and crushing hazards when operating Forklift (Caterpillar Model C6000-LP Serial Number AT983F110306), in that the forklift had an attachment (R & R Loopers Rug Pole Stand Model No. FPA620F3501168 Serial No. 27991) without a label identifying the new lifting capacity.
