29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems: a) Worksite, 11 Woodfern Ct. Bay Shore, NY: Employees were doing foundation wall work from a trench excavation that was not inspected by a competent person for hazardous working conditions. As a result the employees were exposed to cave-in hazards; on or about 10/19/18. Note: In addition to abatement certification the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
