29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:        a)  Shorts Tool & Manufacturing, Inc., Grinding area next to polishing department, on or about November 1st, 2018 and times prior thereto:  Employees utilized a Dewalt DW758 bench grinder (Serial # 2011 18-YL52097) for grinding operations onsite.  Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard associated with the abrasive wheel on the right side of the bench grinder in that, the opening between the tongue guard and the abrasive wheel was measured at approximately 1 inch.         b)  Shorts Tool & Manufacturing, Inc., Grinding area next to polishing department, on or about November 1st, 2018 and times prior thereto:  Employees utilized a Jet brand (Model JBG-6A; Serial # 14061609) for grinding operations onsite.  Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard associated with the abrasive wheel on the right side of the bench grinder in that, the opening between the tongue guard and the abrasive wheel was measured at approximately 7/8 of an inch.
