The employee was not protected from falling by any means of fall protection. Violation occurred on or about 2-5-19

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) worksite, 694 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ An employee used a ladder to access the 2nd floor roof to perform trim carpentry on a dormer. The ladder used by the worker only extended 1 foot beyond the landing. Violation occurred on or about 2-5-19
