OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to flying particles into bodies of employees due to the hazard of compressed air at pressure of 175 psi being transported by PVC pipes in the facility:   1774 Iris Drive SW, Conyers, GA (Throughout Shop Area) - Employees were exposed to being struck by shrapnel. PVC pipes were being used to transport compressed air at pressures of 150 psi.  Compressed air was being used for shop tools and machines for body repairs on automotive vehicles , on or about 04/22/19.   AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THESE HAZARD IS:   Replace the PVC pipes with an impact resistant Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) pipe.  This pipe is recommended by the plastic pipe institute for t his purpose.

29 CFR 1910.37(a) (3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed:     a. 1774 Iris Drive SW, Conyers, GA (Spray Painting Area) - Employees were exposed to fire hazard.  The designated, marked, and identified emergency exit door in the shop area was blocked with a large heavy wooden bar placed horizontally over the emergency exit door, making it difficult to access in the event of an emergency, on or about 04/22/19.

29 CFR 1910.106(d)(4)(iii): Electrical wiring and equipment located in inside storage rooms used for Category 1 or 2 flammable liquids, or Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint below 100 °F (37.8 °C), was not approved under subpart S of this part for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations; for Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint at or above 100 °F (37.8 °C) and Category 4 flammable liquids, was not approved for general use:  a.  1774 Iris Drive SW, Conyers, GA (Paint Store-Mixing Room) - Employees were exposed to fire hazard.  The designated room which is used to store and mix the flammable paints was equipped with electrical outlets, lights and circuit breaker boxes.  The electrical equipment/wiring inside the stored and mixing paint room  was not approved for the location and/or intrinsically safe. on or about 04/22/19.
