29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:    a)     On or about May 20, 2019, and at times prior, the employer, Grist Brewing Company, LLC., had not developed and implemented a written hazard communication program to protect employees who are required to use hazardous chemicals including, but not limited to, sodium metasilicate, sodium hydroxide and caustic soda while engaged in cleaning activities during brewing processes.        Abatement Note:  Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area:  a)     On or about May 20, 2019, and at times prior, the employer, Grist Brewing Company, LLC., had not provided hazard communication training to employees who are required to use hazardous chemicals including, but not limited to, sodium metasilicate, sodium hydroxide and caustic soda while engaged in cleaning activities during brewing processes. 29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:   a)     On or about May 20, 2019, and at times prior, the employer, Grist Brewing Company, LLC, did not ensure that employees, who are required to use sodium hydroxide and caustic soda, both corrosive chemicals, were provided access to a flushing station in case of chemical contact.    Abatement Note:  Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
