Employees assisted a resident with administration of insulin using a Levemir FlexTouch insulin injector with BD Ultra-Fine Mini Pen Needles. Employees disposed contaminated sharps. Employees performed tasks, including housekeeping and responding to spills of blood. The employer had not established a written Exposure Control Plan that addressed all the required elements. This condition exposed employees to a bloodborne pathogens hazard.
