29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems.    a) Grubb Construction, Inc. on or about May 31, 2019, at the address of 7148 OH-199, Carey, OH: The employer did not ensure employees performing steel erection activities atop a steel structure were adequately protected from falls. Employees performing welding and cutting activities on the grain handling structure were exposed to falls of 15 and 83 feet to the ground below.

Employees unfamiliar with the requirements of fall protection during steel erection activities were exposed to falls up to 83 ft.

A) Grubb Construction, Inc. On or about May 28, 2019 at the address of 7148 OH-199, Carey, OH: The employer failed to conduct trial lifts of the man basket prior to hoisting personnel to catwalk platform for the performance of steel erection activities. Employees being hoisted with out trial lifts are exposed to fall hazards.

Employees working in this condition were exposed to fall, hazards.
