29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.   On or about June 12, 2019, during the removal and installation of roofing material on an existing hotel construction project, located at 30100 Clemens Road, Westlake, Ohio, the employer did not ensure employees working from an approximately 8:12 pitch roof were protected from varying fall heights of two stories, by utilizing a guardrail system, safety net system and/or personal fall arrest system.
