29 CFR 1910.1017(d)(1): A program of initial monitoring and measurement shall be undertaken in each establishment to determine if there is any employee exposed, without regard to the use of respirators, in excess of the action level.   On or about September 29, 2019, employees were exposed to vinyl chloride while performing lab analysis of a drug product.  The employer failed to establish an initial monitoring program to determine the level of exposure to employees.  Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19 (d)

29 CFR 1910.1052(d)(1)(i): Where Methylene Chloride is present in the workplace, the employer shall determine each employee's exposure by either: A. Taking a personal breathing zone air sample of each employee's exposure. B. Taking personal breathing zone air samples that are representative of each employee's exposure.  On or about June 6, 2019, employees were exposed to Methylene Chloride while preparing the HPLC mobile phase for testing a drug product. The employer failed to determine the level of exposure for exposed employees as required by 29 CFR 1910.1052(d)(1)(i).  Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)
