29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:   a) Trash Compacting Room- On August 15, 2019, the employer did not ensure that guards or methods of guarding were adequate to protect employees from point of operation hazards, rotating parts, and flying debris from equipment, such as the Stanton Equipment Co. Trash Compactor. The safety interlock on the equipment had been removed and the doors could be opened while the equipment was in use.   No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
