29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):   (a) On or about August 24, 2019, the employer did not ensure that each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels were protected by guardrails, safety nets, or personal fall arrest systems. Employees of Longs Peak Framing, Inc. were exposed to fall hazards of up to 13 feet, while engaged in residential framing activities. Employees were not using fall protection equipment.      Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").  Longs Peak Framing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1412342, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 2, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 1039 Jerome St. Fort Collins, CO 80524.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to upper landing surfaces, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladders were used to gain access:   (a) On or about August 24, 2019, the employer did not ensure that portable ladders, used to access upper landing surfaces, extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface to which the ladders were used to gain access. Employees of Longs Peak Framing, Inc. were observed using a ladder to access the top plate while framing a residential building. Ladder did not extend at least 3 ft above the landing platform and was not secured to the structure.    Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
