29 CFR 1926.502(d)(6): Unless the snaphook is a locking type and designed for the following connections, snaphooks shall not be engaged: 29 CFR 1926.502(d)(6)(i): directly to webbing, rope or wire rope; On October 2, 2019, employees engaged in steel erection activities at W7179 Hwy 49, Waupun, WI were exposed to falls of up to 38' when they wrapped their lanyards around the structural steel and connected the snaphooks back onto the webbing when the hooks were not designed for that use.
