29 CFR 1910.106(b)(7)(iii): Except for underground tanks, a tightness test was not made at operating pressure with air, inert gas, or water prior to placing the tank in service.   29 Phillips St., Leominster, MA: On or about October 10, 2019, a tank being tested for tightness was tested with air pressure that was well in excess of the tanks normal operating pressure and well in excess of 5 pounds per square inch due to the fact that there was no regulator used to reduce the air pressure used to test the tank. The air delivered from the from the compressed air system was reportedly 90 pounds per square inch.  Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29CFR1903.19(d)(1).

The proper approved equipment for this task would be use of a low pressure gauge rated for compressed air use.
