29 CFR 1910.213(d)(1): Circular handfed crosscut table saw(s) were not guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut:  Mill Department:  On, or about, October 16, 2019, the guard provided on the Martin T60 Classic sliding table saw, serial number 512347, was adjusted above the blade while strips of bamboo veneer were being cut.  An employee suffered multiple finger amputation when his left hand accidently made contact with the exposed saw blade.  Abatement Note:  29 CFR 1910.213(d)(1) also requires that guards meet the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.213 (c)(1), which requires that guards be of adequate strength and design to resist blows and strains incidental to reasonable operation and also that the operation of such guards be positive, reliable and in true alignment with the saw.  Legere Group, Ltd. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1271663, Citation Number 1, Item Number 3 and was affirmed as a Final Order on January 25, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at Avon, Connecticut.
