29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): If at any time a powered industrial truck is found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe, the truck shall be taken out of service until it has been restored to safe operating condition.    a) On December 4, 2019, on the operating floor area, powered industrial vehicles (forklifts) were defective and in need of repair, in that tires were cut and missing chunks of rubber and were not taken out of service.

29 CFR 1910.178(q)(1): Any power-operated industrial truck not in safe operating condition shall be removed from service. All repairs shall be made by authorized personnel.    a) On December 4, 2019, at Ohio-Kentucky Steel, power-operated industrial trucks (forklifts) not in a safe operating condition were not removed from service to repair and replace all tires.  Employees exposed to struck by hazards and load shifting.
