29 CFR 1926.602(d): The employer did not certify that each operator had been trained and evaluated as required by paragraph 29 CFR 1910.178(l): 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator was competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l): a) On or about January 7, 2020, an employee was operating a V638 Versa Handler rough terrain forklift without ensuring they were competent to operate the equipment safely, as demonstrated by successful completion of forklift training and evaluation by a person with the knowledge, training and experience to do so. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
