The employees are permitted to use non chemical resistant gloves for working with formaldehyde.     On 03/09/2020 employees used examination gloves for working with formaldehyde where chemical resistant gloves were required.  The employees' hands were exposed to chemical burns.

The employees are permitted to work in the morgue where they are exposed to formaldehyde without knowing what the exposure level is.  On 03/09/2020 it was determined that employees worked with formaldehyde without having been monitored as required to determine the exposure level to formaldehyde.

29 CFR 1910.1048(i)(2): When employees' skins could be splashed with solutions containing 1 percent or greater formaldehyde, the employer did not provide conveniently located quick drench showers and/or did not ensure that affected employees used these facilities immediately:   Morgue area: Employer is exposing employees to hazardous conditions.  The employees are permitted to work where a solution of greater than 10 percent formaldehyde is used without a quick drench shower facility is broken.  On 03/09/2020 employees worked with a solution of greater than 10 percent formaldehyde where the shower facility did not function exposing the employees to chemical burns.

The employees are permitted to work where they are possibly exposed to splashes from chemical solution made of greater than 10 percent formaldehyde without a working eyewash facility.    On 03/09/2020 employees were exposed to injurious solution made of greater than 10 percent formaldehyde where the eyewash facility did not function.
