29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  a.)  On or about June 29, 2020, two employees were exposed to a 13 foot 2 inch fall hazard while erecting a tubular welded frame scaffold system on top of a commercial roof with no conventional fall protection in use.

29 CFR 1926.502(a)(2): Employers shall provide and install all fall protection systems required by this subpart for an employee, and shall comply with all other pertinent requirements of this subpart before that employee begins the work that necessitates the fall protection.  On or about June 29, 2020, the employer failed to install a fall protection system before employees began work on a commercial roof top, thus exposing 2 employees to a 13 foot 2 inch fall hazard.
