29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) Affordable Christmas Lighting at 1405 N Denver Ave in Loveland, CO 80538: On November 4, 2020, the employer did not ensure that all employees installing Christmas lights on a commercial building roof were using fall protection. This condition exposed employees to fall hazards of approximately 20 feet. Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2): The employer did not assure that each employee exposed to fall hazards was trained by a competent person: (a) Affordable Christmas Lighting at 1405 N Denver Ave in Loveland, CO 80538: On November 4, 2020, the employer did not protect employees from injury in that employees exposed to fall hazards had not been properly trained in the nature of the fall hazards in the work area and how to recognize them, the procedures to be followed to minimize those hazards, the correct procedures for installing, inspecting, operating, maintaining, and disassembling the personal fall protection systems that the employee uses, and the correct use of personal fall protection systems and equipment. This exposed employees to falls of approximately 20 feet. Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
