29 CFR  OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed serious injuries or death from falling tree/limbs/branches sections while performing tree trimming activities/operation:   JOBSITE:  97 Wedgewood Drive, Naugatuck, CT: The employer did not ensure employee safety during tree trimming  and/or tree removal operations by conducting onsite job briefings, visual hazard site assessment(s), establishing and implementing specific step-by-step trimming and removal procedures/methods, establishing a drop zone at least one and a half times the height of the tree, safe operations and positioning of onsite equipment (including the Toro Dingo machine for handling debris) prior to commencing all tree related work and tasks.  On or about November 18, 2020, a large tree fell and landed on an employee operating the Toro Dingo machine and removing debris on the ground that was located inside the drop zone of the tree.  The employee sustained serious injuries including a head injury, a fractured neck and back injuries.
