29 CFR  1910.22(a)(1): (1) All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, service rooms, and walking-working surfaces are kept in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition:   (a)Alltech, Inc. dba Hubbard Feeds-Rapid City at 426 Omaha Street, Rapid City, SD 57701:  On or about and at times prior to February 24, 2021, the employer did not ensure potential fire, deflagration and explosion hazards involving  accumulated Class II combustible fugitive grain dust in excess of 1/32 inch on surface areas such as ceiling rafters, floors, freight elevator, hammer mills, roller mills, pellet mills, ducts, walls, ledges, and other equipment involving multiple floors of the facility were effectively kept clean. This condition exposed employees to the hazard of fire and explosion involving Class II combustible grain dust.  Abatement Note:  Immediate cleaning is warranted whenever a dust layer of 1/32-inch thickness (thickness of a typical paper clip) accumulates over 5% of the surface area in the work area. Surfaces that can accumulate dust include overhead beams, joists, ducts, tops of equipment, and even vertical walls.
