29 CFR 1926.1404(f)(1): When pins (or similar devices) were being removed, employees must not be under the boom, jib, or other components, except where the requirements of paragraph (f)(2) of this section were met. a. On or about May 28, 2021, an employee was disassembling a crane/ removing the pins from a section of the crane's lattice boom, during which time blocking/ cribbing was not used to prevent dangerous movement and collapse of the lattice boom, exposing the employee to a crushed-by hazard.
