29 CFR 1926.200(g)(1): Traffic control signs used for protection of the workers did not conform to Part VI of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and were not legible to the motoring public: A) Park Ave & Deborah Pl Piscataway, NJ 08854 /2 lane roadway On or about 06/24/21, an employee of Discover Construction was conducting Flagging operations for a partial lane closure on a two-lane county controlled roadway. The flagger ahead sign was positioned behind a piece of equipment on the sidewalk parallel to the flagger in the roadway and therefore did not give vehicular traffic the proper warning distance of the flagger in the roadway. Hazard noted on or about 06/24/21

29 CFR 1926.201(a): Flaggers. Signaling by flaggers and the use of flaggers, including hand signaling devices used by flaggers did not conform to Part VI of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, (2009 Edition, Including Revision 1 dated May 2012 and Revision 2 dated May 2012), which are incorporated by reference in ��1926.200(g)(2). A) Park Ave & Deborah Pl Piscataway, NJ 08854 On or about 06/24/21, an employee of Discover Construction was conducting Flagging operations for a partial lane closure on a two-lane county controlled roadway. Flagger was using a piece of orange fabric to slow and stop vehicles on the roadway and was exposed to potential vehicular struck by hazards. Employee were not provided with the appropriate hand signaling device as a warning to oncoming vehicles. Hazard noted on or about 06/24/21 MUTCD Reference Section 6E.03 Hand-Signaling Devices Standard: 09 Flags, when used, shall be red or fluorescent orange/red in color, shall be a minimum of 24 inches square, and shall be securely fastened to a staff that is approximately 36 inches in length.
