29 CFR  1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c):  South Main St., Newmarket, NH - On or about August 23, 2021, employees that entered the 6 foot deep trench to hook up new water lines and compact base material were not protected from cave-ins where an adequate protective system was not utilized.  N. Granese & Sons, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1439517, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on November 26, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at Howard & Main Street in Haverhill, MA.
