29 CFR  1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A):The employer shall not permit respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have: (A) Facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function (As referenced by 29 CFR 1926.1101(h)(2)(i)):  On or about September 8, 2021, two asbestos removal workers reported to their worksite, located at 200 E. Madison Street, Crandon, WI, with facial hair in excess of one day's growth. The two asbestos removal workers were required to wear a half mask cartridge respirator while removing asbestos containing flooring material inside an enclosure area. The facial hair was in the half mask cartridge respirator sealing area.
