29 CFR  1910.212(a)(3)(ii):The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle.  (a) On or about October 8, 2021,  a Baileigh plate three roll forming machine model R-C44OH did not have means of guarding to protect employees from caught-in/crushing hazards.  (b) On or about October 8, 2021, the Hyd-Mech DM-8 Horizontal Double Mitering Band Saw Serial WM0207326 did not have means of guarding to protect employees from amputation hazards.  To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that the points of operation of machines whose operation exposed an employee to injury are guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed to prevent the operator from having any part of their body in the danger zone during the operating cycle.
