29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about October 14 2021, the employer did not install appropriate machine guarding, exposing employees to hazards in the following instance: Secondary Department: Machine operators and technicians are exposed to rotating parts and a crush point created by the drive wheel with coupling rod and the push/pull arm of the Hartford thread rolling machine.
