Except as provided in 1926.500(a)(2) or in 1926.501 (b)(1) through (b)(14), each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. a) On or about 12/22/2021, employees were working on framing the upper level of a new commercial property. Employees were not utilizing any conventional fall protection system, while working 12.7 ft. from the ground.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The following training provisions supplement and clarify the requirements of 1926.21 regarding the hazards addressed in Subpart M of this part. Training program. The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) On or about 12/22/2021, employees have not been trained on fall protection systems and on hazards of falls, while working on heights of 12.7 ft. from the ground.
