29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.   a- 16 Autumn Park Boulevard, Building 3, Medford NJ:  Two workers were exposed to fall hazards, up to and in excess of 21 feet  7 inches to the ground surface below, when walking and working at and near the unprotected edges of a commercial structure's third floor balcony without the use of fall protection.  Condition observed on or about 01/12/22.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR  1926.503(a)(2): The employer did not assure that each employee exposed to fall hazards was trained by a competent person qualified in the areas specified in 29 CFR 1926.503 (a)(2)(i) through (viii)   a- 16 Autumn Park Boulevard, Building 3, Medford NJ:  Two workers were exposed to fall hazards, up to and in excess of 21 feet  7 inches to the ground surface below, when walking and working at and near the unprotected edges of a commercial structure's third floor balcony without the use of fall protection.  These workers had not received fall protection training from a competent person qualified in the areas specified in 29 CFR 1826.503(a)(2)(i) through (viii).  Condition noted on or about 01/12/22 and on 02/03/22.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
