29 CFR  1926.651(b)(2):Utility companies or owners were not contacted within established or customary local response times, advised of the proposed work, and asked to establish the location of the utility underground installations prior to the start of actual excavation:  a) On or about 3/9/2022, at an excavation project located near  3270 Wildwood Drive, Hamburg, New York; an employee was operating an excavator to dig out old tree stumps. While excavating the operator struck a 2 inch, plastic natural gas line causing a leak of natural gas. The employer did not contact the utility operator(s) to establish the location of underground installations prior to excavating.  NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
