29 CFR  1910.1200(f)(6): Except as provided in paragraphs (f)(7) and (f)(8) of this section, the employer shall ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace is labeled, tagged or marked with either: (i) The information specified under paragraphs (f)(1)(i) through (v) of this section for labels on shipped containers; or, (ii) Product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals, and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, will provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical.  On or about March 30, 2022, at the facility located at 3400 South Packerland Drive, Suite 102, De Pere, WI 54115, in the Chemistry Lab, the employer did not ensure that containers of hazardous chemicals were labeled, tagged or marked, with the identity and/or hazards of its contents, exposing employees to chemical hazards in the following instances:  a) On a countertop, one plastic spray bottle labeled as Signet Neutral Disinfectant b) Under Fume Hood GB0779 (Model 7471040 SN 100335-01), one glass bottle labeled as 20% NaOH c) Under Fume Hood GB0779 (Model 7471040 SN 100335-01), one plastic bottle labeled as KSCN d) On one spill containment pallet, one plastic container labeled as Copper Sulfate Waste e) On two spill containment pallets, three plastic 55-gallon drums labeled as AgNO3 Waste

29 CFR  1910.1450(e)(1): Where hazardous chemicals as defined by this standard are used in the workplace, the employer shall develop and carry out the provisions of a written Chemical Hygiene Plan.  a) On or about March 30, 2022, at the facility located at 3400 South Packerland Drive, Suite 102, De Pere, WI 54115, in the Chemistry Lab, the employer did ensure that a requirement in the Chemical Hygiene Plan requiring fume hoods function properly was fully implemented. A Protein Digestor was blocking air flow at the bottom airfoil.   All provisions of 29 CFR 1910.1450(e) through (g) shall be contained in a written Chemical Hygiene Plan. A key element included, but was not limited to, ensuring that fume hoods and other protective equipment are functioning properly.
