29 CFR  1910.184(d):Inspections. Each day before being used, the sling and all fastenings and attachments shall be inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer. Additional inspections shall be performed during sling use, where service conditions warrant. Damaged or defective slings shall be immediately removed from service.  On or about May 19, 2022, the employer did not ensure synthetic web slings were inspected for damage or defects each day before or during use by a competent person designated by the employer.  The employer did not ensure damaged and defective synthetic slings were immediately removed from service.

29 CFR  1910.1200(f)(6)(ii):  The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical.   On or about May 19, 2022, the employer did not ensure chemical containers used in the workplace contained product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provided at least general information regarding hazards of the chemicals immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program with specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of hazardous chemicals.  Employees use hazardous chemicals in the workplace including, but not limited to, Protect-IT 165 rust preventative, Trim EP coolant/lubricating oil, Alpha Sol 104T coolant/lubricating oil, and Hydraulic-32 hydraulic fluid.

29 CFR  1910.1200(h)(1):Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets.  On or about May 19, 2022, the employer did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area.  Employees work with and around chemicals in the workplace including, but not limited to, Protect-IT 165 rust preventative, Trim EP coolant/lubricating oil, Alpha Sol 104T coolant/lubricating oil, and Hydraulic-32 hydraulic fluid.
