29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2):The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. On or about July 12, 2022, employees installing seamless gutters at a residential single family home were exposed to electrical hazards when the employer failed to ensure each employee was instructed in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions, such as but not limited to overhead powerlines. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.100(a):Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. On or about July 12, 2022, employees installing seamless gutters at a residential single family home were exposed to struck-by hazards while working on the ground level and from extension ladders when the employer failed to ensure hard hats were utilized. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
