Additionally, the line-of-sight to an exit sign must clearly be visible at all times. a. On or about August 17, 2022, multiple illuminated EXIT signs were hanging from electrical wires along six aisleways in in the warehouse. The employer did not ensure that the direction of travel was clearly visible in order to direct employees to the nearest EMERGENCY EXIT.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Examination. Electric equipment shall be free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Safety of equipment shall be determined using the following considerations: a. On or about August 17, 2022, the employer did not examine and ensure that the Hawker, Model LPM3-48F-320Y forklift charging cord was free from damage as the positive cord had exposed internal wire likely to cause electrical shock to employees while handling the cord. b. On or about August 17, 2022, the employer did not examine and identify that the electrical outlet box used to energize the Hawker, Model LPM3-48F-320Y forklift charger was properly secured to the wall, thereby exposing employees to an electrical shock hazard. c. On or about August 17, 2022, the employer did not examine and identify that several EXIT signs located in the ceiling were suspended by their conductors and not fastened to the junction box, thereby exposing employees to electrical shock hazards.
