29 CFR  1926.501(b)(13):"Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.  On or about March 8, 2022, employees engaged in roofing installation operations on a residential multi-family property were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 25' when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized.  The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1537493, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on January 12, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1504 Walnut Ave., Des Plaines, Illinois.  Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR  1926.503(b)(1):The employer shall verify compliance with paragraph (a) of this section by preparing a written certification record.
