29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance paragraph (b) or (c) of 29 CFR 1926.652:  a) North of NE 4th Street and DE Route 14, New Milford Police Department, Milford, DE 19963: On or about September 7, 2022, subcontractor's employees observed working in trenching/excavation work adding a new commercial water connection and a new storm water drainage system on a newly built police station project. Employees were required to enter and work in a trench/excavation during rainy conditions without any type of protective means being in place. The rain increased the potential of collapse exponentially with the continued use of the excavator being used to assist the employee in the trench/excavation.
