OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were potentially exposed to eye and skin burn hazards created by the operation of a Class IIIB laser: a) On or about September 20, 2022, and times prior, employees were potentially exposed to eye hazards in that a Class IIIB laser was in use, however current workplace controls were not used such as signage outside the room, or curtains. Diffuse contact with a class III B laser beam potentially exposed employees to serious skin burns and irreversible eye injuries. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
