29 CFR  1910.1053(g)(1):Where respiratory protection was required by this section, the employer did not provide each employee an appropriate respirator that complied with the requirements of this paragraph and 29 CFR 1910.134:  a) Production Department -  On or about November 15, 2022, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to respiratory hazards, in that the employer failed to ensure that  employees were provided appropriate respirators while employees were using  compressed air to clean the dust and small concrete particles off the vaults base when an employee was exposed to an 8-hour TWA airborne concentration of respirable crystalline silica equal to 71.15 mcg/m3.

29 CFR  1910.1053(h)(2)(i):The employer allowed compressed air to be used to clean clothing or surfaces where such activity could contribute to employee exposure to respirable crystalline silica without being used in conjunction with a ventilation system to capture blown dust:  a) Production Department -  On or about November 15, 2022, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to respiratory hazards, in that the employer failed to ensure that compressed air line was not charged while being connected, potentially exposing employees to dust and small concrete particles that contain crystalline silica.
