OSH ACT of 1970 Section 5(a)(1):  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employee in that employees were exposed to fire hazards involving the combustion of waxy condensate in sintering furnace ventilation stacks:   On or about November 9, 2022, Employees were exposed to hazards associated with fire due to sintering furnace ventilation stack fires.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.38(e)  Training. An employer must designate and train employees to assist in a safe and orderly evacuation of other employees.  (a) On or about, November 9, 2022, The employer failed to fully document its training of employees regarding the employer's policy found in its emergency response plan that the use of fire extinguishers to fight fires is strictly limited to minor, incipient stage fires, and all fires beyond the minor, incipient stage require evacuation.  Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2):  The employer shall verify that the required workplace hazard assessment has been performed through a written certification that identifies the workplace evaluated; the person certifying that the evaluation has been performed; the date(s) of the hazard assessment; and, which identifies the document as a certification of hazard assessment.  On or about November 9, 202, ,The employer failed to fully document the hazard assessment it conducted to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment for employees utilizing fire extinguishers to fight minor, incipient stage fires.   Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
