OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by a flying metal object which entered and was then ejected from the cutter disks of a wood chipper:  90 Taunton Lake Road, Newtown CT: On or about November 21, 2022, an employee was feeding tree branches and limbs into a Bandit Intimidator 15XP wood chipper without receiving the proper training on winch use and not properly securing the winch rope before the chipping operations, which resulted in the winch line and hook entering the chipper and ejecting onto the worker's back and fracturing several ribs, collapsing a lung, and injuring his liver.
