29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.  a) On or about January 5, 2023, at the previously addressed inspection site, an employee was observed using a pneumatic Metabo HPT 3.5" Strip Nailer without eye or face protection while framing the first-floor walls of a residential single-family two-story house. Employees were not protected from flying particles and/or nails exposing the employees to eye injuries and injuries/illnesses associated with flying particles and/or nails.
