29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): On or about January 13, 2023, the Hobart (Motor Serial # WJLV010820) vertical bandsaw blade was not working properly. The guard was in the raised position (highest point) and could not be lowered or adjusted by the meat cutters. This condition exposed the employee(s) to a struck-by hazard.

This condition exposed employees to electrical shock and burn hazards.

The employer's OSHA 300 Log for 2022, did not reflect an injury occurrence that year.

29 CFR 1910.305(c)(4): Faceplates for flush-mounted snap switches. Snap switches mounted in boxes shall have faceplates installed so as to completely cover the opening and seat against the finished surface. On or about January 13, 2023, a snap switch located in the cutting room was pushed inward beyond the metal faceplate exposing live electrical parts. This condition exposed employees to electrical shock hazards.
